Arlington Stories is a collaboration of the Arlington Historical Society and George Mason University Department of History to document and preserve the memories and stories of Arlington. The project will provide residents and students with oral history training and resources to conduct oral history interviews and community history projects. Additionally, Arlington Stories will maintain a public archive to preserve oral histories for future generations. The project's primary goal is to deepen the public’s engagement and understanding of Arlington’s past and present by producing public programs and resources with the oral history archive.

Built upon the traditions of oral history, local history, and community engagement, Arlington Stories recognizes that every resident's experiences contribute to Arlington's evolving story. Its mission is to create a richer, more inclusive historical record by documenting the voices, memories, and perspectives of people from every neighborhood, generation, and background.
